Noisy but snuggly January 3, 2009 As other reviewers have said, the motor noise is loud and distracting to me, but the kids do not notice it at all. The sound and movement are very realistic, yet it is still plush enough to snuggle with - just what my daughter wanted. It's a pricey toy at $[...]+, but worth it when her face lit up on Christmas morning.
Awesome January 1, 2009 The cub is cuddly and makes the cute little noises. It takes a bit of experimenting how to make it make all the noises, but otherwise it's really cool. My 4 year old loves it.
disappointed December 31, 2008 This was my daughter's favorite toy that she got for Christmas. But it only lasted 3 days before the facial mechanics stop moving. Then the sound fizzled out over the next day. I had to change the batteries twice within those 3 days that it did work. My daughter was gentle with it, so it broke due to poor quality. Its very difficult to get a replacement and the manufacturer is difficult to contact. Their phone lines have "been down" for many days and they are slow in returning emails. My daughter is very disappointed that the defective toy will need to be returned for a refund with no hope of getting a replacement.
Great toy, but first one didn't work December 29, 2008 I ordered this toy from Amazon for my 6 yr. old son for Christmas. I had read the reviews about there being some problems with the toys, so I kept the original shipping box. Good thing. On Christmas morning, we carefully took it out of the box and found that it didn't work. We tried 3 sets of batteries, but it didn't react to the touch sensors. I tried the Wowwee web site, but it was worthless and customer service wasn't back in for 4 days. I checked the Amazon web site and found I could exchange the product for a new one. Problem solved. Until later that day when I received an e-mail from Amazon that their inventory counts were incorrect and they couldn't replace it. I could either keep it with a 10% discount (why?) or return it for a full refund. I was thrilled that I could still return the item even though I had bought it more than a month previous. However, my son was very disappointed. Once he saw the toy, he fell in love with it. Fortunately, we happened to find one left on a shelf at Target (for $10 more). I would recommend this toy, but do not mail order it in case you have problems. And be sure to take your time taking it out of the box in case you have to return it.
Lion Cub is a hit December 29, 2008 Everyone had to touch it & make it purr & growl. A hit with the 6 year old it was purchased for as well as her 19 year old sister. Amazingly life like. Purchased this one even though my child loves white tigers because the white tiger has a harsh "meaner" expression.
